FOOD SOURCES OF DISEASE

Many diseases can occur due to unhealthy eating patterns. Many people suffer from unhealthy eating patterns, and their suffering can actually be avoided if only they choose the right foods. Meat as a source of disease has long been known to mankind. Most animals are carriers of disease which is transmissible to humans. Among the 200 kinds of diseases, more than 100 kinds of diseases can be transmitted from animals to humans. Although some of these diseases can be cured, but also many diseases that lead to death.

Generally each state has a special body to regulate animal slaughter procedures, to assess which animals deserve to be slaughtered and the meat sold in the market. Animals with the disease, by itself is not permitted in circulation in the market. However, in reality it is not always the case. Especially meat imported from another country into our country, which is less stringent in penyembelihannya supervision.

You can imagine yourself, if an animal containing the disease, the disease is not mean only on certain body parts, but to the entire body of the animal. Although the animal's body parts have been removed, this does not mean the disease has also been lost.

What about the situation in developing countries? With loose supervision of the slaughter of animals, often causing the situation to get worse. Could be when he found a diseased animal, it quickly before the animal was dead, then brought to the slaughter, so as not to lose money. And it turns out that diseased meat that's what you often encounter and in buying in the market. As a result you have invited to your body's own disease.

How To Get Your Kids To Like Healthy Foods

Fast food is a big part of modern life these days, making it very hard to teach a child how he or she should eat healthy. The cheapest and easiest foods are those that are normally the least healthy. If you give your child the choice between healthy food and junk food, you normally won't like the results.

Even though it isn't possible to get a child to like all healthy foods, there are some ways to get your child to try and hopefully like at least a few of them.

You can be as creative as you like, as getting kids to eat healthy foods can be a little harder than you may think.

- Sneak the healthy food in. Even though it would be great if your kid understood the importance of fruits and vegetables, this isn't always possible. If you can't get them to eat good food willingly, there are ways to sneak them in, such as making muffins out of bananas or apples, or pizza with spinach on it.

- Call fruits and vegetables by funny names. You can refer to broccoli as trees, making them more fun to eat. There are many different names you can call fruits and vegetables, even making up your own if you prefer. Most kids prefer to eat foods that sound fun.

- Make the foods taste better. Ranch dressing is great for broccoli, while peanut butter is a great topping for celery. There are several combination for vegetables that can make them taste much better. You can let your child pick a topping for a vegetable, even if it's something you wouldn't normally like yourself.

- Dress the vegetables up. Just as much as calling them names help kids eat healthy foods, making them look funny also helps. You can do this by making funny designs on the plate, or setting them up to look like people. Although some parents don't like their kids playing with their food, sometimes it helps to get them to eat healthier.

There are several ways to make your kids eat healthier, but to make them enjoy it also has to be fun as well. This isn't always an easy task, because kids normally don't like foods that are good for them.

It can however, be done with a bit of creativity. Hopefully, doing this will help your child develop a love of healthy foods for the rest of their lives. Download FREE Taster Edition of Healthy Eating For Kids for ideas!

The Important of Healthy Foods

Food is the fuel that our bodies use for energy. The three main sources of fuel are carbohydrates, protein, and fat. The body changes them into glucose for energy or stores them as fat. A car uses gas for energy—we use glucose! Eating a balance of healthy foods that contain carbohydrate, protein, and fat every day will help your blood glucose stay in balance and keep your weight where you want it to be.

Today most people are to accept as a fact that “to be healthy” a well-balanced diet is required. They want what’s best for their live. Healthy foods are an important issue because healthy eating is important to good health. There are lots of reasons to eat healthy foods, here are just a few:

  • For energy and vitality to live
  • To grow at a healthy rate
  • To help keep blood sugar or glucose levels in balance—not too high or too low
  • For weight control
  • To control of blood fats and prevention of heart disease
  • To keep the body working properly
  • To help the body avoid other health problems caused by diabetes

Good nutrition is an important part of healthy foods. Many causes of disease are related to poor nutrition, including heart disease, diabetes, overweight and obesity, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and certain cancers. Poor nutrition can also impact day-to-day life by affecting concentration and work performance. For children, a poor diet can have a significant effect on proper growth and development.

People who want to follow a healthier eating plan should try to:

  • Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables eaten as part of an everyday diet.
  • Buy fresh produce in season for the best prices.
  • Select canned fruits and vegetables as a convenient way to include more produce in the diet. Look for fruits canned in light syrup or natural juices.
  • For vegetables, choose “No Salt Added” versions if sodium intake is a concern.
  • Choose frozen fruits and vegetables, which are available year round and are rich in important nutrients.
  • Choose whole grain products when possible. Look for “Whole Wheat Flour” or “Whole Wheat” as the first ingredient on the nutrition facts label.
  • Include up to three servings of fat-free (skim) or low-fat (1-2%) milk and milk products each day.
  • Select lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts as quality protein sources.
  • Focus on choosing food items low in saturated fats, trans-fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars.
  • Use proper serving sizes for all foods to prevent excess calorie consumption. Information on the correct serving sizes for each food group is available at The Food Pyramid.

Many factors can affect the nutritional health of both individuals and communities, including an individual’s knowledge about healthy nutrition, cultural practices related to food choices, and having access to information about an adequate and healthy diet.

Eating Healthy Foods For Healthier Lifestyle

Eating Healthy Foods For Healthier Lifestyle

I get a lot of questions about dieting after my first training session with new clients. They all have that new drive to be healthier person. When one wants a healthier lifestyle the first secret I tell my clients is you need to start eating healthy foods. I will explain this more in my article and give you the same recommendation I give all of them for a healthier lifestyle.

Healthy eating starts out with discovering how to eat smart

Food decisions can lower many health problems ranging from cancer, heart diseases and diabetes. Think of a diet change as a set a stairs. Take your FIRST STEP FIRST. Do not make a radical change all at one time you need to make simple improvements. Start out slow when making the switch to eating healthy foods. Modify your eating behaviors over time not all at once. This is often the most typical mistake and why a lot of us fail when choosing to make a diet change.

Think lesser portions.

I'm certain you're aware at how portion sizes have increased over the years. Everybody desires to get a good amount for their dollar so portion sizes have increased in many restaurants to accomplish the value people have been aiming for. This can be very detrimental to individuals who are only eating healthy foods. You can still visit a restaurant just aim to make sure you are limiting your portions and look for healthier food selections on the menu.

Try not to think of certain meals OFF LIMITS.

When your brain is aware you can't have something it can be natural to want more of the forbidden food. It is the same concept of telling yourself to not tumble when you're on a stage merely to trip over your own feet. You think so hard about not failing you accidently convince yourself to not succeed.

It just isn't simply what you eat its how you eat.

You may only be eating healthy foods but if you lots of food at one time it will not do any good. Eating healthy foods goes further than the food on your plate. How you think about food is another key to triumph. Rather than rushing through your food between meetings or when your grabbing the kids from school. Slow down and consider your food as something that you need for nourishment.

Listening to your body, eating with others in the office or simply having a good quaint family dinner is some solutions to keep the eating in check. This really is also an effective way to introduce good eating habits in your children.

Remember change doesn't happen overnight but by eating healthy foods and implementing a little exercise your body will begin to feel better and you will start losing weight without even trying.

I have been recommending this new plan for anyone having trouble when trying to get started with healthier eating. This will give you all of the guidance you need to get started and maintain a healthy eating lifestyle. I have been getting some good feedback on it and I recommend it to all of my clients.

Eating Clean - Easy Breakfast Ideas

Eating clean and healthy foods for breakfast is not as difficult and time consuming as one would think. In fact, many healthy breakfasts can be prepared with common items out of your own pantry.

Since breakfast is the first meal of the day it only takes some common sense to realize that this meal sets the tone for the rest of the day. Assuming your last meal from the previous day was eaten somewhere in the evening then approximately 8 to 10 hours will have passed since your last bite of food.

It is important to remember that you need protein and some carbohydrates at breakfast. Protein is important in helping to build healthy muscle mass and carbohydrates are important because they give you sustainable energy until your next meal. The following is a list of some really healthy meal ideas:

1. Oatmeal with fruit. Add 1/2 cup of rolled oats to 1 cup of boiling water. Boil the water for 2 minutes in the microwave. Add the oats to it and cover with a plate to allow the heat to absorb the oats. In a couple of minutes your oatmeal is done. Add 1/2 cup of berries like strawberries, blueberries, or any other type of berry. If you cannot buy them fresh then buy them frozen. Add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon for a better flavor. I personally add 2 teaspoons of flaxseed (found in the health food store or health markets). Flaxseed is rich in omega-3 oils.

2. Egg Whites with fruit - You can make your egg whites by several methods. The easiest method is hard boiled. It's easiest to hard boil your eggs in advance of when you want to eat them. This method allows me to pull a few eggs out of the refrigerator in the morning. After I peel them I remove the yokes. I then add cut up fruit to the bowl. The eggs have the needed protein and the fruit has the carbs that are needed.

3. Grainy bread and peanut butter - There are many reasons why a peanut butter sandwich is a healthy breakfast option. But what's also important to know is that you should choose a healthy grain bread and natural peanut butter. The best bread is a very grainy wheat bread that does not contain high fructose corn syrup as one of it's ingredients. All natural peanut butter is the best nut butter to use. The peanut butter gives you the protein and the bread gives you the necessary carbs.

4. Protein Shake - Although I don't personally drink shakes as a meal replacement it doesn't mean you can't. In general shakes don't fill me up for 3 hours and I only end up feeling very hungry rather quickly. However, you may want to have a shake. The following is an idea for a healthy breakfast smoothie: 1/2 cup skim milk, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup berries, 1 tbsp flaxseed, 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, 1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt, 2 scoops protein powder, ice cubes. Puree it all together.

Another good tip to starting your day off clean and healthy is to drink at least one tall glass of water right when you wake up and drink another glass of water throughout your breakfast.
